Gardner Heaton is a consultant with Triad and a Senior Associate with CMPartners, LLC. In his private sector work, Mr. Heaton advises businesses on internal and external relationship management practices that maximize value creation. At CMPartners, Mr. Heaton coordinates and delivers corporate negotiation and communication skills services for Fortune 100 clients.Mr. Heaton's public sector experience centers on leadership capacity building for emerging and senior political party leaders in Nepal and civil society leaders in Indian-administered Kashmir. In Nepal, Mr. Heaton co-facilitates workshops hosted by CMPublic and the University of Sandiego’s Institute for Peace and Justice, which focus on the skills necessary to lead Nepal through the current period of violence, political and social change. In Kashmir, Mr. Heaton coordinates CMPublic’s Kashmir Peace Partners Initiative, a five-year endeavor centered on strengthening Kashmiri communication, negotiation and collaborative problem-solving skills.
Before entering the field of negotiation and conflict management Mr. Heaton honed his situational leadership, teaching, crisis management, risk-analysis and decision-making skills working for eight years as a professional mountain guide in the Teton Range of Wyoming.
Mr. Heaton received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University and is a candidate for the Masters of Law and Diplomacy at the Fletcher School, Tufts University.
