
Rajib Chanda | Consultant
Rajib Chanda is a Consultant with Triad Consulting, and a senior Associate in the Corporate Department of Ropes & Gray in Washington, D.C.
As an attorney, Rajib's primary focus is on counseling hedge funds, investment advisers and registered investment companies and their boards of directors on transactional, regulatory and investigative matters. Rajib also has extensive experience in transactions involving investment companies, including mergers and acquisitions of or by investment advisers and initial public offerings of closed-end mutual fund companies, as well as experience in counseling foreign and U.S. clients on cross-border transactional and regulatory matters.
Rajib has significant experience in teaching negotiation skills to both law students and professionals. Between 1998 and 2001, he served as a teaching assistant for the Negotiation course at Harvard Law School. Since 1998, he has been an instructor for week-long basic and advanced negotiation workshops through the Program of Instruction for Lawyers at Harvard, and continues to teach the Advanced Negotiation Workshop there each summer. He also runs a three-part negotiation workshop offered to Ropes & Gray summer, junior and mid-level associates, as well as providing training for Triad clients tailored to address in-house issues.
Rajib was the Editor-in-Chief of the Harvard Negotiation Law Review (HNLR) and a Hewlett Foundation Research Fellow in Law & Negotiation. He is the author of "Mediating University Sexual Assault Cases" (HNLR 2001). He holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School and an A.B. in Economics from Brown University. He speaks fluent Bengali, though still not as well as his mother thinks he should.
